Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Primary Series) :

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a system of yoga which communicates to the modern world. “Ashta” means “Eight” and “Anga” means “Limb” The eight limbs of yoga called Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. This method of yoga involves Ujjayi breathing with a progressive series of postures. Ashtanga Yoga increases the fire in the body that removes the toxins and uses the breath to purify the blood flow. This dynamic form of asana uses breath, bandha and drishti to invigorate the practitioner. The traditional Mysore style of teaching combines self- practice and adjustments to increase the overall  ability of the student. Thus Poses are strung together with vinyasa flow like the beads of a mala.

I have found Ashtanga Yoga to be the most complete and balanced routine of physical for the development of stamina, strength and flexibility. Further, its application as a therapeutic tool in the treatment and recovery from sports related injury is unsurpassed.”
